Dreams are where you want to go and work is how you get there.

Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul.
Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.
            Ralph Vaull Starr

I've lived to bury my desires,
And see my dreams corrode with rust;
Now all that's left are fruitless fires
That burn my empty heart to dust.
            Aleksandr Pushkin

Always Have a Dream
Forget about the days when it's been cloudy,
but don't forget your hours in the sun...

Forget about the times you've been defeated,
but don't forget the victories you've won...

Forget about the mistakes that you can't change now,
but don't forget the lessons you've learned...

Forget about misfortunes you've encountered,
but don't forget the times your luck has turned...

Forget about the days when you've been lonely,
but don't forget the friendly smiles you've seen...

Forget about the plans that didn't seem to work out right,
but don't forget to always have a dream.

In Dreams Of You
In dreams of you. I am sitting on a quiet beach.
Digging my toes into the warm sand.
Night falls the ocean is shrouded in a mist.
The waves softly batter against the seashore.
The moonlight softly illuminates the beauty of
the ocean.
I look out into the waves. I see your face.
You beckon me to come to laugh and love.
We laugh, we dance amidst the wisps of seafoam.
Whispers of our love are carried off on the wind.
I awaken another day begins.
A day I will spend in silent torment.
Longing for the night.
For it is in the night
that I live. In dreams of you.

The Dream
I'm lying here in the darkness
My eyes close
My mind slowly fades away
Then there you are so close...so real
I reach out to touch you, but I can't
I can almost feel the softness of your skin
Your strong hands reach out to me
I feel the warmth coming from your body
I hear the sweetness of your voice
Just to touch your skin
Just to feel your body against mine
My eyes slowly open
I then realise that the warmth of your body
Was the warmth of the sun
I then realise that the sweetness of your voice
Was the sweetness of the morning

Daylight Dreams
I expressed my feelings
In the middle of the night,
The time when dreams are alive
When everything is alright

I spoke of a love for you,
It seems I've always known
What you meant to me from the start,
A feeling that has only grown;

With roots that begin with friendship
A love and caring that's not dependent,
It's unconditional, it's tender,
It's loyalty is evident.

In a dream it was expressed,
In daylight it is real.
Even in the troubles that rise
It's a love I can't help but feel.

This doesn't mean possessing,
It isn't anything conventional.
A camaraderie that is natural,
Caring and sharing that's intentional.

I want you to know about this feeling'
Know there's no underlying scheme
Only that I will be around
In the daylight and in the dreams.

My Dream
I had a vision when I was young to change the world and make every
wrong , right.

I had a vision that I could be white and black and yellow and all shades
in between.

I had a vision that I could feed the hungry and put a smile
on every face.

I had a vision that I could heal every aching heart
and answer every person's prayer.

I had a vision when I was young to make every flower bloom
and every tree blossom.

I had a vision when I was young to rid the world of anger
depression and disease.

I had a vision to heal every mind and every soul and rid
the world of troubled minds and tired journeys.

Now that I am old I have only one vision, to take each day as it comes and
believe that change is still possible,

Clouds are like dreams floating across the blue sky mind.

A Dream
1827
In visions of the dark night
I have dreamed of joy departed-
But a waking dream of life and light
Hath left me broken-hearted.

Ah! what is not a dream by day
To him whose eyes are cast
On things around him with a ray
Turned back upon the past?
            Edgar Allan Poe

A Dream Within A Dream
1827
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
            Edgar Allan Poe

Dreams
I have been happy--tho' but in a dream.
I have been happy--and I love the theme--
Dreams! in their vivid colouring of life--
As in that fleeting, shadowy, misty strife
Of semblance with reality which brings
To the delirious eye more lovely things
Of Paradise and Love--and all our own!
Than young Hope in his sunniest hour hath known.
            Edgar Allan Poe

The poor man is not he who is without a cent, but he who is without a dream.
